Create a category
- Open Products and select Manage categories.
- Give the category a name, a short code, and a colour that makes it recognisable in the table.
- Add the category, then assign products to it while creating or editing them.
Keep the structure small
A handful of categories that match how your team talks about the catalog is more useful than a deep tree nobody maintains. Each category shows how many products it holds, which makes an unused one easy to spot.
Note: Deleting a category never deletes products. Everything inside it simply becomes uncategorized, so you can reorganise the catalog without risking the rows themselves.
